About the book

Two grown sisters face off over their mother’s death-bed. Together they confront one another, their own identities, and what will remain when their mom leaves this world. A contemporary look at the significance of faith and family, Honour Beat explores the stories this Indigenous family has told itself through the years, as their mother’s youthful spirit leads them toward forgiveness.

Honour Beat is an important work of art… It celebrates—honours—women as the givers and sustainers of life… The ending is extraordinary.” —The Globe and Mail

“…a universal appeal despite its specific Indigenous roots…The final uplifting, spiritual moments of Honour Beat will linger with you long after you’ve left the theatre…the richness of story itself and the beautiful sentiments at the heart of the play.” —Calgary Herald
