This Wind

Joan Ruvinsky

About the Book
Blending hard-edged observation with a fine dash of humour, the text maps the apprenticeship of the heart from the individual breath to the wind. At once an affirmation of the self and its annihilation, This Windopens into the silence behind the words.

“These poems, in their delicious simplicity, should be required reading for those who believe ours is a complex age, and that a complex age demands complex poetry. Instead, it is poets like Ruvinsky who help us to realize just how far ordinary language can take us toward ineffable things.”
—Montreal Gazette
