Floyd Howlett

Floyd Howlett began his life of commitment to peace and justice by protesting the treatment of Japanese-Canadians during World War II. That led to work as a United Church missionary in Japan, where he where he was the director of the Northern Hakkaido Christian Centre, working with church, community and farm groups for thirty years. On his return to Canada, Reverend Howlett worked with Project Plowshares, the New Canadians Centre, and the Social Planning Council of Peterborough. Reverend Howlett died in 2003.
