The Dragon Papers
About the Book
Gnosis, Cabala, Lake Monsters, Alchemy, Allusion, Hydro and Harangue.Rising Organ Music. Ruth Taylor’s second collection of poetry, “The Dragon Papers” is an eclectic and esoteric comedy, precise and preposterous. With one eye on the ancient and obscure and the other on the new, improved and millennial, Taylor’s dragons speak with forked tongues…and make sense!
“…her poems vibrate with energy, dizzingly rising from Taylor’s fey poet-persona to a conversation between a dragon and Andromeda (one of several captive maidens to be found in Greek mythology). Taylor is unabashedly erudite. Her poems teem with mythical and literary allusions. Words spill out on to the pageous, sensuous and challenging as the dragons serve as both subject and metaphor.”
