About the Authors
Paul Ledoux is one of Canada’s most produced creators of musical theatre, and his work is known for provocative explorations of the relationship between politics and popular culture. Ledoux’s shows include Dora and Chalmers Award-winning (with David Young), Still Desire You (with David Young and Melanie Doane), and Dream a Little Dream the nearly true story of The Mamas and The Papas, with Denny Doherty. Paul is the past chairman of the Playwrights Union of Canada and in the 70s served as the President of Montreal Playwrights’ Workshop.
Originally from Nova Scotia, Allen Cole has worked variously as composer, lyricist and/or book writer on musicals such as The Wrong Son, Mimi (with Rick Roberts and Melody Johnson), Anything That Moves (with Ann-Marie MacDonald and Alisa Palmer), and Pélagie (with Vincent de Tourdonnet). Allen has composed music for many theatre companies, including the Shaw Festival, Stratford Festival, and Soulpepper. He has won numerous awards, including four Dora Mavor Moore Awards, and a Best Film Score Award from the Atlantic Film Festival. In 2009 rockbound won five Merritt Awards, including Best New Play, Best Music and Best Production.
